"Thuban" Fine Handmade Knife

Thuban is named for a prominent star in the northern constellation of Draco. This particular knife has a nicely ground drop point blade, versatile and durable. The blade is 440C high chromium martensitic stainless tool steel, and is fully fileworked from point to choil. The tang is tapered for good weight balance, and the front bolsters are made of 304 high nickel, high chromium austenitic stainless steel, hand-engraved with a simple curling pattern. The bolsters are dovetailed and bed a pair of very tough and durable Antelope Jasper gemstone handle scales, brightly polished and smooth. The handle shape accommodates a three fingered grip, and this simple knife is comfortable to hold and use. The sheath is made of hand-carved leather shoulder into which I have inlaid Shark skin inlays. The sheath is hand-stitched with polyester sinew, dyed tan, lacquered and sealed. A very nice small knife.
